Definitely a dazzling moment. The Bryant Park DERBY DAY event came back once again to a huge success. Congratulations to its Board. Covid seemed like a hiccup. A bit different than years before everyone was a winner. Congratulations to Michael Chapallier the 50/50 winner of Tropical Ridge neighborhood.

missed was Richard Guercio former 50/50 winner, my bet was on him. Oh well. Actually regardless what event, he was always a winner. This year we had in our midst Carmen Diaz new City Mgr. Sarah Parr Malega and Christopher McVoy our commissioners. The best silks went to Herman Robinson who enjoyed his retirement immensely .

In all the excitement, no one noticed as everyone had fun that . The impending rain cut the event just a bit shorter. Next year 1st 2nd and 3rd will come back . There were ever so many donations 40 by my count that went to awards and many to silent auctions. No one was left behind

Letter Writing month just around the corner

Well, it’s almost here “letter writing month”  and I’m all in so not only will friends and angels in disguise get something from me.   I also participate in mail Art.  Now what would that be or how does that look? Both activities are endorsed by the National Association of Letter Carriers.  The deadline for the Graceful Envelope contest I am sorry to say is in just a few days.  However, our Local Mail Art Project has another two weeks till it’s over and we display all our entries at a local venue.   No one is denied or censored. Someone will absolutely love your letter regardless of coffee stains, and not so perfect cursive.  Historically it binds families and we have a connection to the loved ones from the past.  No ordinary card produced by the hundreds but something priceless from the heart.  A very special surprise when it arrives at its destination.

We in Lake Worth were gifted with envelopes from around the world when we turned 100 and also received many from locals who participated.  AnnaMaria Windisch-Hunt gave free lessons impromptu at the Towers,  senior living at the LWAL , in summer camp,  now she is scheduled to do the same once more. The schedule *below where you can sit a spell and do some art all supplies provided. There is a silver mailbox at Common Ground Coffee above the piano, for those who do not have a forever stamp or lol envelope plus some pens and crayons.  It will be posted properly through the U.S. Postal system each afternoon and hand-canceled to boot by Patti and arrive at  ART Project  P. O. Box 46  Lake Worth Fl. 33460  (this is where your creative envelope should be addressed to. Unless it’s addressed to Grandma. Still not sure what is expected have a look at this link it’s from the reception we held during our centennial. Have some fun with friends gather around a table or join her at the mentioned venues.  It’s your turn to make someone else’s day.  Feel like writing a letter instead of decorating an envelope.  It’s all good.

*Tomorrow Friday 6 – 9 p.m.   At Common Ground Coffee House  14 S J street.              Walk-in, sit a spell and enjoy the comradery of like minded people. share ideas and create an envelope.  All supplies are provided.  Work on your own or do one together.  Nice night out  Evening on the Ave.   It might be a bit chilly.  Visit adjoining art galleries and come in inspired.  Extend your intimate evening in downtown Lake Worth’s hottest street.

Pennsylvania visitors enjoying  Lake Worth Beach

Hello Pennsylvania,  here to visit Lake Worth Beach on this gorgeous 81 degree.   Staying in W Palm for a week.   The traffic has already been diverted as of this Friday Morning to set up for not just Street Painting but also for tonight’s Taste of Lake Worth.

Always wonderful to see friends and get to wish them a Happy Birthday. What else would you do on your special day?  Walk the beach spend time with daughter, of course.

Want to acknowledge another birthday, today Annette Rawlings who moved here from Coconut Grove on my recommendation and has not regretted it.  She is currently exhibiting her Art at the Cultural Council.  For more ifnormation, she is one of the artists showcased in  “Portrait of our Artists” series about our Lake Worth Artists.

If your downtown tonight stop in at the Cultural Council and all the other art venues.  Especially J street is doing their own kick off for the weekend.  Jazz, at Common Ground Coffee next door a new gallery and Rudy’s, occupying the former  Bamboo Room.

Garlic Fest Volunteer Log day two

Came early again with renewed enthusiasm.   Sharing what makes Lake Worth so special.  It takes a great many volunteers to make anything happen.  As our Mayor Pam said only days ago the volunteer hours given by our community were over  600,000  and valued at  $   ??     .    Had the same bus driver, so we had our routine down.  My introduction went smoothly and the riders learned about our solar field, the Little Free Library, the Street Painting Festival.  and what a surprise that Lake  Worth actually had a beach with lots of amenities in the Casino Complex.

The new businesses in our quaint walkable downtown area. Even got to mention that Rudy’s known for live music, will have a Grand Opening at the former Bamboo Room on Valentines Day.  I wandered around checking out what was new to this fair.  The ice cream had mixed reviews.  The riders shared their best experiences, one being that the pick up and drop off was smooth this year. They all had smiles on their faces, were well satisfied with their

experience and yes will return.  Not knowing who is on our bus or who we are engaging with came as a lovely surprise.  I couple seen below here. I had actually witnessed being drawn by the cartoonist only an hour before.  here they were on the bus, Gus.  Then someone in passing asked what I did and they then asked “Do you know John Mangan”(a fellow artist)  yes I do.  “he was our neighbor” .  Had not dawned on me that we were also informing  our own  Lake Worthians.  Hope my enthusiasm for Lake Worth showed.  On the last trip inviting all to return soon, to the Street Painting Festival, someone said “I will be back sooner I work at the Sheriffs Dept. ” You just never know who your fellow passengers are. We got hugs and some even remembered my name.  A good feel experience all around.     “I’m your Lake Worth Ambassador AnnaMaria WELCOME! “ so started my introduction on the bus, we had a script to follow.
